All Saints CofE School

Governors Welcome

On behalf of the Governors of All Saints’, I would like to offer you a very warm welcome to our school. On these pages of the school website, you can find out more information about the school’s Governors and the work that we do.

The purpose of the Board of Governors is to ensure the quality of education provision and to be responsible for the good conduct and high standards of educational achievement in the school. The Board is responsible for setting the strategic development of the school and for monitoring and challenging the progress of the School Leadership Team in achieving its priorities.

Members of the Board give their time and expertise freely to the school. The Full Governing Board (FGB) meets once per term and is supported by 3 sub-committees, each of which usually meets at least once each term.  The 3 sub-committees are for Personnel, Teaching & Learning Standards (TLS) and Finance, Premises & Health and Safety (F&P).  We also have a small Admissions Panel which conducts some work on behalf of the FGB but admissions, in general, are a matter for the whole Board.

In addition, working parties may be set up for different purposes, including adjudicating on complaints. The governors also attend individual training courses organised by the London Diocesan Board for Schools and the local authority in order to ensure that they are fully abreast of developments and regulations affecting the governance within the education sector.

The Governing Body works alongside the  Executive Headteacher, the Head of School and members of staff, supporting and challenging, in a constant search for improvement and development of the whole school. As governors, we are very proud to be part of both the local community and the governing body; we aim to provide the best possible education to every child in a safe and nurturing environment to ensure that we keep pushing our pupils to Inspire each other, to Believe in themselves and to Succeed in all areas of life!
